Earn the finish.
Every book ends with a Certificate of Achievement. Solve at least 75% of the puzzles independently in each of its three parts.
Check your answers honestly and revisit the puzzles that need another attempt. The certificate is a personal workbook achievement; a parent, teacher, coach or study partner may review and sign it.
MAKE THE COLLECTION YOUR OWN
Your next book depends
on your next question.
“How do I finish the attack?”
Start with Checkmate Hunter. Add Combination Hunter and Sacrifice Hunter when you want to calculate connected forcing ideas.
“Why do I miss material?”
Work through Fork Hunter and Pins & Skewers. Learn to recognize targets and understand which pieces can—or cannot—move.
“How do I hold this position?”
Explore Defense Detective, then Endgame Explorer. Practice defensive resources and accurate calculation with fewer pieces.
BEFORE YOU START
A few useful answers.
Do I need to buy the books in order?
No. Each book is self-contained. Checkmate Hunter is a natural starting point, but you can choose the theme you want to practise.
Who are the books for?
Players who already know the rules and basic chess notation. The collection is designed for improving beginners, young players and adults who enjoy structured puzzle practice. Later themes can be more demanding.
What is the print format?
The workbooks use a large 8.5 × 11 inch format with a black-and-white interior on white paper and a colour cover. Each interior contains 109 designed pages. Amazon may add a blank production page.
Are the solutions checked?
The numbered puzzles are checked with chess software and Stockfish during preparation. The published solutions are illustrative continuations, not exhaustive lists of every legal defense. Where a position has another sound continuation, use the full chess result to judge it.
Are these official Lichess books?
No. These are independent publications. The selected puzzle data comes from the Lichess open database, which is released under CC0. The books are not endorsed by Lichess.
Where can I buy the books?
Books with an active View on Amazon button link directly to their product pages. Titles marked Coming soon are not yet published on Amazon. Check the product listing for current prices and delivery options.
